storms firing earlier this afternoon. we are also seeing the rain lingering around to the southern parts of louisiana although it is back in off -- backing off towards houston. new orleans is being left alone but they are dealing with lots of flooding rain there. 80 degrees in tampa, and clearwater. through the day, we see a rainbow storms as we hit a high of 92. the storms will fire earlier today. i will let you know the timing of the rain when we come back in 12 minutes. the rain is giving us images we can take our eyes off of. authorities going car to car trying to rescue people stranded on the interstate from

georgia. it happened last night in east men georgia, and our from macon. police were responding to a suspicious person call when he ran into the suspect and was shot. the officer was not wearing a body camera. angry crowds in milwaukee after an officer shot and killed a 23-year-old man. it happened during a foot chase after a traffic stop. the man was armed and wouldn't drop his gun. now people have burned for businesses including a bank. so far arrests. the state is investigating the shooting. officials say the officer who fired at the man was wearing a body camera. police are searching for a gunman who killed a muslim religious leader in new york and they have surveillance video of the suspect. he was shot in the back of the head after attacking a prayer service yesterday.

faith had anything to do with the attack. officials say they are investigating whether an earlier argument at the mosque may have led to the shooting. the video shows the gunman leaving the scene with a weapon in his hand. pinellas county teenager accused of carrying out serious crimes and making a big mistake. they got him caught. 18-year-old rodney hydorn charged with property damage. he's accused of scaling events and breaking into park auto service charger. he plowed through the fence and ditched that car and drove off in a shelby gt mustang. only got a few blocks away when he realized he dropped his wallet at the business. he went back to get it and pretended to be a witness to the crimes but his story quickly fell apart. >> that is the best story ever. literally hear you were you still a $35,000 hot rod, it is like fast and furious.

you lost your license. and then get arrested. >> after paying for the repairs to his damaged property he will put up security cameras. pinellas park police investigating a car crash on park boulevard overnight. two vehicles collided. one person does have life- threatening injuries. a teenager is fatal crash in polk county. it happened early yesterday morning. the drive at your and two passengers and one of them died, driving on i four, when the driver lost control. 2% alcohol could be involved. second pedestrian hit and killed.

this person is in critical condition. westbound lanes were shut down for several hours overnight. waiting to learn the name of the pedestrian killed on broadway. he was struck by a car yesterday morning. police have not identified the person. a full 10-year-old girl is dead after jacksonville police say someone shot her at a house party. three adults were also hurt. the shooting started after an argument. the suspect is on the run. north carolina, raleigh police gunfire at a busy mall. no one was shot. this is cell phone video of the sheer panic as people try to rush out of the building. that is how people did get her. eight people were injured running into chaos. there is no evidence of gunfire. police haven't found shell casings. witnesses told police they heard gunshots. >> we heard five or six shots go off and i had my wife and my

having some good news for students heading back to overcrowded schools and wesley chapel. a new school opens up tomorrow. >> lauren rozyla talks about wh w to get class-size and control. >> reporter: the growth could not be more clear. already knew homes going up in this empty lot across from a new elementary school. now the district has to make a plan to cope.>> are you coming from double ranch? >> her daughter is finally out of one of wesley chapel's most overcrowded schools. >> the congestion was too overwhelming put -- sometimes.

new wire grass elementary. >> it's pretty big. >> this will help with overcrowding. >> a lot of portables and a lot of kids transitioning. >> principal steve williams said they will open with 500 kids but can hold 800. they know more students are coming. to prepare wire grass is closed to school choice. >> we anticipate with the growth that we will grow past capacity. >> apartment complex areas are going up around the school. it will bring in hundreds of families. >> for now this mom is relieved her kids will be in a real classroom and not a portable. >> it gives the kids more space. >> administrators have empty classrooms that wire grass ready and waiting.

the school is expecting so much more growth they've arty reserved this entire area for portable classrooms. warned rosella. school kicks off tomorrow for polk county students but they still need more teachers. the district has 150 openings working with agencies to try to fill the spots. officials are asking patients as teachers and parents find their routine. give yourself extra time in the morning if you are taking your child to school. 500 buses will be in route to take 50,000 kids to class. you guys ready for this? check out that lightning. it may not be time for hockey but of course we always have the lightning here. >> it's amazing when it goes from the completely dark screen to lighting it up like that. >> we see a lot of shots like that right now as we look out life into the gulf of mexico.

for us for today we get that breezy and hot sort of weather early on and with those breezes we will see the showers popping by midafternoon and they will start down here and work their way back off to the north. we will see them lingering through 6:00 and we will see more of them through 10:00 before we think finally it pulls out by midnight. tomorrow same scenario. looking for a 40% chance of showers again sterling earlier in the afternoon. eventually they will pull back into the gulf of mexico. a good boating day today as we look at the digital day planner. temperatures shall zoom up rapidly and then the showers by midafternoon. 86 on the water now and voters can expect southeast winds at 10 knots. light chop on the inland waterways. don't forget the sun sauce. low tide at 7:09 am.

welcome back. i am james tully. here is what we're watching. second pedestrian hit this weekend in tampa. it happened on hillsborough avenue at midnight. that person is in critical condition. the westbound lanes near deal may be were shut down. violent riots on the way after an officer shot and killed a 23-year-old man in milwaukee. the man was armed and shot during a foot chase four businesses burned including a gas station, a bank, one officer hurt. police have made three arrests. authorities are going car to car to rescue people stranded on the interstate from this flooding. the system dumping three months of rain in just one day. three people are dead and the governor has declared a state of emergency but 1000 people at this point have been rescued.

across the florida straits into the southern part of the state and we will see though showers make it towards us by later on. here is a look at the current temperatures, right now at 80 degrees in tampa and clearwater. st. petersburg with 78. 75 and brooksville. 76 zephyrhills and haines city. plant city, bartow, 79. 76 also in crystal river. the thing worried about is that we have more moisture in the atmosphere to work with today. look at these two points. plant city 79. this is off the charts so it will feel muggy as you head out this morning. should be a good boating day as we reach the high of 92 degrees by later on and yes, you can see showers will fire in the afternoon and lingered to the evening. we will look at that boating weather forecast and also when

they will come up in less than 15. how about an update on the election. donald trump running mate governor mike pence will release his tax returns. they will be made public before election day. that is contrary to trump who said he is being audited and were release them with that is completed. clinton has released over terrence dating back to 1977. trump says he is his tax returns under wraps because he is being audited but the agency says there's nothing legally stopping him from releasing his returns. the hacker known as guccifer 2.0 strikes again. after previously providing 20,000 democratic national committee emails to wikileaks, the persona is claiming credit for outing the personal phone and email addresses of hundreds of house democrats. the data was posted to goose or

cooperating with investigators looking into this hack. we're watching the olympics chanting usa. there we go. the city of tampa -- it will pick up speed. the city of tampa is hoping to help future star athletes with a new swimming pool. it reopened yesterday and you can see kids are enjoying swimming and adults are lounging. the pool stayed open for 60 years and closed in the 90s and reopened in 2000. only to be shut down again after problems with the pool. the city council decided $3 million was needed to renovate are >> this is a place where kids can be kids. this is a place where young people can come in a tough

things are very clear out of the east and southeast. taking a look at the southeastern united states, we see that massive moisture to the. this has continued to slowly migrate west so the folks in southern louisiana are going to get a break today. houston will be under the gun as well as the texas coast. for us, breezy and hot early and then showers coming in by midafternoon. this is graphic refresh model. you can see the storms heading from south florida towards us and by 6:00, good coverage as we wind down the beach days. could make for some very interesting rides home from the bay area beaches. you will see the storms along the southern marriott -- barrier islands first. looking for a high of 92 for tampa and plant city.

watch for the very warm moist maggie air mass. cooler on the coast at 88 at longboat key. golfers, expect a warm one, starting off around 80. by noon, 85 and clouds will thicken. and then the showers will show up. out of the water, 86 degrees and a good boating day and a beach day. temperatures will stay along the bay area beaches. here is the most accurate seven- day forecast, looking for high and 92 tampa. tomorrow, a high of 91 with a 40% chance of afternoon showers. more moisture pop in on friday. this is the typical pattern for this time of year and nothing really changes around here unless we get trouble brewing

. >> this is something we talked about how it can help the underemployed. give us examples of adults who have college degrees but can't find a job that will pay off the student loans. >> what we found in pinellas county, quite a few folks that had degrees and going back for technical certifications. there is a lot of opportunity in the tech side so we've had a number of people take the assessment to opportunity and where is the demand to become employable and be able to pay off some of that debt they may have incurred and be productive. >> degrees are no guarantee. >> you have to be careful. our message to people who are considering educational, buyer beware. not everything out there will lead to a job and it is not just about learning stuff.
